The Socorro County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan belongs to our local communities.  Your input is critical in developing an effective mitigation strategy for our communities.  Please join the multi-jurisdictional planning group for our public meeting on September 9thh, 2015 at 6:00pm, to be held at Magdalena Village Hall.

The County of Socorro, City of Socorro, New Mexico Tech, Village of Magdalena, and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District have collaborated with the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), for the review, revision, and update of the Socorro County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Natural hazards continue to affect our community.  A natural hazard mitigation plan strengthens community disaster resilience, while reducing potential loss of life and property from future disaster damages.
