On Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., in a regular meeting at the Socorro County Annex Building, 198 Neel, Socorro, NM, the Board of County Commissioners of Socorro County will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of adopting Personnel Policy Ordinance, Number 2016-002. The Board of Commissioners may vote to enact the Ordinance during the meeting following the public hearing. The purpose of the Personnel Policy Ordinance is to revise and replace current personnel policies. The Ordinance will establish consistent, basic policies and practices concerning relations between Socorro County and its employees. This Personnel Policy Ordinance establishes a pre-disciplinary process and a formal grievance procedure available to regular employees to hear their grievances with respect to improper promotions, demotions, terminations and suspensions, and provide the method by which a personnel hearing officer is chosen to hear formal grievances. The Ordinance establishes employee benefits and obligations and also provides a policy for drug testing to insure a drug and alcohol free working environment. Provisions of the Personnel Policy Ordinance shall apply to all County employees except as provided within the Ordinance. This Ordinance will also repeal and replace the all former and current Personnel Policies, including Socorro County Ordinances 2013-001, 2014-004, 2014-006, 2015-001 and 2015-003
