Public Input Meeting August 26th for Hazard Mitigation Plan

Socorro County, the City of Socorro, New Mexico Tech, Village of Magdalena, and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District have collaborated with the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), for the review, revision, and update of the Socorro County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. Natural hazards continue to affect our community.  A natural hazard mitigation plan strengthens community disaster resilience, while reducing potential loss of life and property from future disaster damages. 

The Socorro County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan belongs to our local communities.  Your input is critical in developing an effective mitigation strategy for our communities.  Please join the multi-jurisdictional planning group for our public meeting on August 26th, 2015 at 6:00pm, to be held at the Socorro County Annex Building,  198 Neel Ave., Socorro, NM.  

With sufficient notice, a translator will be provided for non-English speaking residents. Individuals who require auxiliary aids or services for this meeting should contact Socorro County Administrative Office at 575-835-0589.
