LVSC is a financially self-supporting, non-profit organization, that relies on support from local resources to help continue and expand literacy efforts in the community. We are a volunteer-based, professional organization committed to providing one-to-one or small group tutoring to functionally illiterate adults and to adults lacking English language skills and other literacy skills such as vocational computer competency.
LVSC provides training and certification for its volunteer tutors. LVSC provides a variety of classes including Basic Reading, English as a Second Language, Vocational Computer Skills, Pre-GED instruction, Citizenship instruction, as well as instruction in Life Skills, Prevocational Instruction and Workplace Literacy classes.
LVSC services are provided free of charge.
