The Budget & Finance Department is directed by Sammie Vega-Finch, Finance Director.
The budget and finance department is responsible for all accounting functions of the County including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, budgeting, and internal control. The department is responsible for the preparation of the budget documents as well as the yearly financial statements, which are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals.

The Accounts Payable & Purchasing office is responsible for maintaining procedures for obtaining goods and services for the County, including all activities from the planning steps and processing of purchase requisitions and issuance of purchase orders.
All purchases made in Socorro County must have a purchase order number assigned first. This office is also responsible for all purchase requests (RFPs, ITBs, etc.)

Any contractor or subcontractor wishing to access construction plan documents must register with Socorro County. New users will be issued a username and password to log in to the file. If you are already registered as a user, simply send a message to manager@socorrocounty.net and request access to the new project. Only registered users will have the ability to sign in to the system at: http://www.google.com/a/socorrocounty.net.
Users must have the ability to download and print the documents, paper copies will not be created and issued. If you choose not to register as a user, a CD with the documents can be purchased from Socorro County Administration for $50.00 each by contacting the County Purchasing Officer at 575-835-0589 ext. 1105.

In an effort to improve efficiency, Socorro County uses the New Mexico E-Purchasing System for soliciting bids from vendors. This system will provide you with convenient online access to bid information for Socorro County, as well as 25 additional local agencies throughout New Mexico.
